Personal Shopper: An Area Rug for Nicole’s Growing Family
Nicole writes: “Hello!! My personal shopper request for is an 8×10 rug for my living room. Something soft (as we are expecting our first baby early next year) but nothing too expensive because I have 2 dogs, $250 is really the most I’d like to spend. My living room walls are a light tan with one light blue-gray wall, the furniture is black leather, and we have beach-type artwork on the walls. I like something fun, nothing to old fashioned looking- I don’t care for Oriental style rugs. Please help! -Nicole”
Hey Nicole! I’m Found of You. This was tough! I did find a few rugs in the size you wanted for the price you wanted that would go with your decor and hide dog hair and be baby appropriate. I know that #5 is out of your budget, but it’s so awesome for a family and it’s my favorite and you should just get it.

Stila Positive and Pretty Palette
If you didn’t know that October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, then we’re guessing you’re a) colorblind to the pink ribbons that start cropping up around August 1st, and b) living under a rock. October, once all about the beer, sausages, and skeletons/vampires/pumpkins, is now the pinkest month of the year, and given that we run one of the pinkest sites on the interwebs, we’re pretty excited. (Oh, yeah, and, of course, we love all boobs and want ‘em to stay healthy!). But. Anyhoo.
One of the early contenders for “OB’s Favorite BCA Makeup Product of 2011″ is the Stila Positive and Pretty Palette ($14). Packed with $62 of products, including 4 eye shadows, a cheek color, and a bronzer/highlighter, it features shades pretty much guaranteed to flatter everyone. A portion of the proceeds will also be donated to breast cancer research and “the betterment of women living with cancer”, worthy causes indeed. So pink it up!

Doubtblush: UNIF Suck My Richard Tee
We found this. We couldn’t believe it was real – that people would pay cash-money for it when they could instead spend it on food or something awesome like this. But it IS real, and people DO buy it. There are just some things we’ll never understand…
Let’s be clear here. We’re not doubtblushing this UNIF Suck My Richard Tee ($69) because it’s yet another piece of apparel that refers to men’s junk. We’re desensitized enough by all the crotch grabbing/shifting/naming/referencing to care much about one more dick joke. Instead, we’re calling shenanigans on the fact that it’s an almost SEVENTY DOLLAR TEE SHIRT WITH HOLES IN IT. Maybe we’re just getting old and curmudgeonly here, but when will this “distressed apparel” fad just go away? We have a hard enough time getting our men to ditch the old, hole-ridden shirt he bought at a thrift store in high school for something presentable. Please, fashion world, can we just let boys grow up to be men with somewhat dignified wardrobes?
